Thornton Weekly update week ending 9th June
Lots of fish moving at times but not easy to tempt, with anglers who went down to size 14 & 16 hares ear, diawl bach and buzzers managing to tempt a few.
At times bright conditions with a cold easterly breeze and a bit of an algae bloom did little to help.
144 rods caught 219 trout for rod average 1.5
A few caenis about in the evening with good buzzer hatches providing most evenings a good evening rise, again though the fish moving were not easy to tempt. Water temperature is still cool at 13 degrees
Chris Sayer got to grips with the conditions catching 8 to 3lb as did T Pegg recording 10 trout for his visit, Chip Kawalsingh caught 8 on small olive buzzers from the farm bank area, B Allardyce caught 4lb rainbow, Phil Moore 5lb rainbow, T Green 5lb1oz rainbow, W Newby 4lb4oz, with Tony Lorrimer 9lb14oz rainbow.
Our last four hours fishing 1 fish kill + Catch & Release £10 and a rowing boat £4.00 offers great value.
