Thornton Weekly update week ending 1st September
With the rod average at 2.0 Thornton continues to improve but depending on the days weather its either a case of fishing a floating line with dries or fast sinker with booby.
Junior angler T Gamble fished from a float tube up alongside the weed beds up the Thornton arm catching 12 trout. Chris Vernon fished a morning session over the deeper water to catch 7 fish to 3lb8oz, Russ Martin enjoyed an evening’s session catching fish to a home tied daddy, Mr Crone fished an evening session taking two fish on a cats whisker before swapping to dries and taking a further 3 trout.
Some regular anglers fishing on Saturday reported fish feeding on the fry, a sure sign autumn is upon us.
