Weekly Report ending 23rd March
113 rods recorded 498 trout caught for rod average 4.4
The wind at times last week restricted areas anglers could fish, but despite the weather anglers recorded good catches with the shallows along the Thornton Arm, wood bank & farm bank producing best.
Last Tuesday the first of the sand martins arrived, spring must be around the corner, not surprising therefore an increasing number of trout are been caught on buzzer & cruncher patterns.
Floating lines continue to take the majority of the trout but on the windier colder days anglers found an intermediate or medium sink line worked best.
Best patterns are black & green or white & green tadpole, weighted damsel patterns, black buzzer & cruncher.
If your fishing a part day from a boat the morning session is the most productive.
If your coming to fish the bank we recommend you bring waders.
