Thornton 01530 230807 Weekly Report ending 30th March
97 rods recorded 368 trout caught for rod average 3.8
You can sense a change, a few more trout this week were taken on the buzzer and on Sunday evening we had our first, if short lived evening rise.
Last week we had a few days when a strong easterly wind and heavy showers kept rods away, but on these days bank anglers fishing the shelter of the Thornton arm enjoyed good sport with the trout tight in along the margins.
Best areas continue to be the shallows of the Thornton arm, wood bank and lonesome pine with boat anglers who ventured to other parts of the reservoir reporting fish in green bay
Its been an excellent March with a further stocking this week, a better warmer weather forecast and buzzers hatches starting to improve it looks set to be a good April
If your coming to fish the bank we recommend you bring waders.
With the clocks changing our last 4 hour permit offers excellent value fishing from 3pm – 7pm
