Weekly Report ending 14th September
114 rods recorded 187 trout for the week for a rod average 1.6
The great weather were enjoying this September has had the unlikely impact of gently pushing the water temperature back up slightly with the surface temperature this past week between 18 & 19 degrees. Normally not a problem but coming off the back of a hot summer it’s had the unlikely September effect of pushing fish off the surface.
Those anglers prepared to pick up a sinking line or fish with an indicator & ignore any fish moving on the surface scored best with the deeper water in front of the dam & across to the stones fishing best.
Chris Sayer fished with his 8 year old grandson Harris on Sunday catching 15 fish with Harris catching 7 of them.
Best patterns, Booby, gold headed daddy, blob, buzzer & dry daddies
On Saturday we held the Steve Parton Memorial Competition, with Tubers fishing against boat anglers, the tubers one last year but this year the boat anglers scored a comprehensive win, fishing to a 4 fish kill limit they weighed 62lb1oz against the tubers 30lb8oz, top rod for the boat anglers were Brian Sibley who weighed in 4 fish for 13lb4oz including a brown of 3lb7oz, great to see the Parton family attending to present the cup.
Water clarity remains good.
