Weekly Report ending 21st September
Please Note This Week Thursday 25th & Friday 26th September anglers one they have unloaded their tackle at the lodge will need to take their cars to the main car park due to maintenance work been carried out in the anglers car park
126 rods recorded 187 trout for the week for a rod average 1.5
With the water temperature creeping up a little this week during the day anglers found some fish feeding close to the surface while others went deep with sinking lines and booby.
Clive Holt used small suspender buzzers to catch his 6 fish on an afternoon visit, Rodger Jones went down the Markfield arm and caught 7 trout for 17lb on sedge, buzzer & damsel, Norman Perkins used hopper to catch his 13 trout with Mark Goode using a Daddy to catch his 6.
Anglers reported trout willing to chase a lure or fry pattern through the wave but would come that extra inch & take the fly. With the water temperature dropping this week we may see them more prepared to take.
Members from the Complete Fisher Forum visited Thornton for their annual bash, thanks to Nigel for organising the three day event & for Paul who shared his killing booby pattern which helped boost catches.,
