Thornton weekly report week ending 31st July 2016
70 acres
Tel: 01530 230807
Our surface water temperature is dropping & is below 19 degrees allowing us to restock all three reservoirs in the group this week, (stocking occurred 2 August)
The deeper cooler water in front of the stones, green bay & dam has generally fished best this week again, although on the cooler overcast days anglers found fish along the edge of the weed beds opposite the lodge down in front of the wood bank.
Anglers reported fish prepared to chase flies through the surface with some fish coming to dries, especially the “big red” & daddy.
Mark Hunt suffering from jet lag following his Alaskan fishing trip, quickly dropped back in to the UK fishing mode catching 8 from the green bay area & along the weed beds of the wood, Tut Miles fished hares ear and cdc patterns to catch his 4 fish during a morning session, Mick Huffer recorded 4 for his 3 hour session.
Rod average for the week was 1.0
At times like this at the height of the summer when fishing conditions can & do alter quickly we recommend you contact the lodge for latest info.
