Thornton Weekly Report
Week ending 3rd June
Tel 01530 230807
Algae and warm water temperature did not help this past week with our surface temperature by Sunday hitting 20c degrees
Not surprising therefore that our rod average was 1.1 with the morning session fishing best
The deeper water produced with the channel down the Markfield arm, stones, green bay an main car park the areas that produced with the majority of fish falling to sinking lines with snakes, bunny leech or booby.
Kev Mailie and Pete Harris caught 8 between them on Saturday, with P Mee fishing the cooler morning session on Saturday and Sunday to boat 9 trout, Chris Sayer and M Cross fished the morning session on Friday and caught 5 trout
This morning Monday 4th June and it’s a much cooler forecast with our algae bloom has gone, we have good clarity, with a cooler overcast forecast for the coming week we should see the water cool and an improvement to the sport, with the cooler forecast further stocking will take place this week.
As always call the lodge for latest update
