Rod average of 2.5
Another steady week at Thornton with a 2.5 rod average. The main areas producing are the corner of the wood, green bay and car park with floating, intermediate or slow sinker best. A mixture of patterns are taking fish from buzzers, crunchers to blob, booby and fry patterns.
Jan Webber spooned the fish he caught on Friday and they had being feeding on large buzzers and bloodworm.
Andy Lilley caught 5 trout on a floating fry and an intermediate. John Simpson used his bunny patterns to boat 12 trout taking fish from all over the reservoir. Richard Price fished hoppers and boobies to catch his 6 trout with Tut Miles sticking to his buzzers and crunchers to catch 5 during his mornings visit with Peter Wrigley and Mark Hunt also catching on buzzers, diawls and crunchers.
The fish taking buzzer and nymph patterns are in the shallowest of water in front of the wood and down past the lonesome pine
Mick Adkin caught a 3lb rainbow, Brent Hart 4lb8oz brown from his float tube with Howard Davies catching a huge 3lb1oz perch which took his green pea
The water is currently gin clear
The water level is down 7ft as STW have engineering works to be done to the overflow and spillway. STW have started the work.
