Fishery Report: Week Ending: 20th September 2020
Monday and a good start to the week with fish moving on & off all day. Members Steve Jordan and Pam Shuttleworth shared a mornings boat catching 12 between them on Fabs fished in the top 3ft, Ian Brearley and Ian Leach shared a boat fishing the majority of the time in green bay boating 27 fish on a washing line set up. Bob Menhams fished claret hoppers for his short morning session catching 10 trout with anglers fishing the last 4 hours catching on small emergers and dries.
Tuesday, daddies, crunchers and buzzers were the patterns taking fish with the boats spread our across the main basin, green bay, car park and Markfield arm. Andre Russell fished from his float tube catching 11 trout, B Perry fished daddies and buzzers for his 15 trout with P Mee recording 7 trout on diawls and crunchers for his mornings visit
Wednesday and a slight change to the weather, noticeably cooler in the morning with the wind starting to move into the east. All Water member Paul Walker fished diawls, cdc and buzzers to record his catch of 16 trout, Bob Jones float tubed to and recorded 8 trout
Thursday & Friday gusty, cooler easterly wind with the best of the fishing to be had from 11am. All water member Jamie Scott fished DI3 & midge tip to record his catch with a tequila blob accounting for most, Jamie reported getting lots of follows from all over the reservoir., Andy Hubbard fished the shelter of the green bay to take his 6 fish with Ian Bradfield sharing a boat with P Mee recording 19 fish between them, mostly on blobs and fabs.
Saturday and another cool morning, wind from the east again. Again the fishing was best late morning onwards with daddies, claret nymph, big red, blob and fabs wit anglers using DI3, midge tip and floater.
Jan Webber fished a big red wet on a midge tip in green bay to record his 6 fish with Tony Bokenham fishing 12pm to 4.30pm warmest part of the day to take his 5 trout
Sunday and another cool morning, its getting that autumnal feel to it. Anglers reported seeing plenty of fish on the surface feeding, with trout prepared to chase and follow but proved difficult to hook, John Thomson & Pete Hunt faired the best boating 6 fish during their session on small diawls and buzzer
Water temperature is good at 16c+, last weeks rod average 3.9
