Fishery Report: Week Ending: 22nd November 2020
Quieter week with the gusty and at times wet conditions keeping anglers off the water.
Monday was a quiet day with few rods out, Tuesday with better weather saw a few more rods take to the water. Pete Hunt fished in the shelter of green bay, a good decision as he caught 6 on a booby, Barry Deeley also fished a booby boating 3 trout with Ian Schofield finding the colour orange worked best for him catching 5 for his visit.
Wednesday orange worked best with A Gunby leading the way with 8 trout, Thursday was a cold gusty day with only 3 rods out fishing, Friday was busier but again the cold and at times gusty conditions saw most rods catching between 1 and 3 trout.
Similar challenging conditions on Saturday, under the wind it was relatively calm, in the wind it was gusty, the shelter of the Thornton arm and wood was the best area, Jason Garrison put his new DI5 to good use catching 5 trout on a mixture of cats whisker and black – green lures, Tony Bokenham lost a few but eventually managed to get 2 to the boat on a white – green booby snake.
Sunday a better day with the weather, noticeably cooler but less wind. Sinking lines with orange booby pr white and green snake booby were the best patterns. With the water gin clear R Price using a lighter 4lb leader produced more takes for him helping him to land 3 trout with P Hunt and J Thompson fishing boobies to catch 5 for their mornings visit
The water is gin clear, as Richard Price reports you may need to fish with lighter lower diameter leaders
Rod average for the week 1.8
