Thornton weekly report week ending 14/04/2013
Continues to improve as does the weather, and not before time, with 112 rods last week catching 592 trout for rod average 5.3
With our water temperature at long last on the way up, nearly 8 degrees this morning more & more fish are feeding on the buzzer. It shouldn’t be too long before the trout start spreading themselves throughout the reservoir and if the temperature, air & water, continue to rise we should soon see the first evening rise of the season.
For last week anglers continue to concentrate their efforts along the shallows of the Thornton arm, wood & woodbank corner with the welcome southerly wind a tad too strong to fish down along the Markfield arm.
As soon as the wind drops expect the farm bank to fish especially for the bank angler.
Intermediate & floating lines best with fritz damsel, cats whisker, buzzer.
