Thornton Weekly update week ending 16th June
112 rods caught 238 trout for rod average 2.1
Clarity has improved although a small amount of the algae bloom remains, but any breeze soon clears it. Lots of trout to be seen moving at times especially in front of the dam and off the stones, these fish are moving to buzzers during the day with sedges and some caenis about in the evenings. A few damsels are starting to show as well.
Suspender buzzers, buzzer, hoppers, GH sedge & damsel patterns working well
In the evenings if the air temperature doesn’t drop cold we are starting to see some excellent rises with the best of the sport during that last hour
Our last four hours fishing 1 fish kill + Catch & Release £10 and a rowing boat £4.00 offers great value.
