Thornton opens on the 1st of February & is one of the earliest midland reservoirs to open.
Fishery is open from 7.30am for bank anglers with boats available from 8.30am
With 3000 trout stocked for the opening boat & bank anglers should enjoy good sport.
Traditionally the bank opposite the lodge (Thornton Arm) and sown along the wood bank towards the lonesome pine produces best during the opening month.
We recommend bank anglers bring waders, our boats are rowing boats with anchors & lifejackets provided, anglers may bring their own electric motor.
