Thornton weekly report week ending 3rd October 2016

It’s certainly had the hint of autumn this past week, noticeably cooler in the morning and late evening but with reasonable daytime temperatures.
Water clarity is improving with our water temperature this week around 14 degrees.
Noticeably this week we saw an increasing number of trout on the fry with the stones and weed beds opposite the lodge holding the fry feeders. As the water temperatures cool the trout will move from the deeper water into the arms as they seek out the fry feeding bonanza
Some fish are still feeding on buzzer and daddies, S Kelhowski caught 12 trout on buzzers for his visit, Dave Rowbotham fished a washing line for his mornings visit taking 5 trout, Norman Perkins fished daddies, hoppers, diawl bach and suspender buzzers to catch 13 trout with T Pegg fishing a daddy to catch 8, Adrian Freer opted to use an intermediate and buzzers catching 6 for his mornings visit with Bill Nichols fishing daddies and olive buzzers for his 5 trout. Mark Hunt fished fry patterns catching 9 trout with 4 going over 3lb, John Bebbington caught 3lb12 rainbow, M Cross 3lb.
Overall average for the week was 1.9
