Thornton weekly fishing report 31/03/2012
With the clocks going forward to summer time we should start to see an improvement to the weather.
It must be as frustrating to you the anglers as it is to me as a fishery manager that sport currently is excellent but the weather forecast is keeping rods away. However on this mornings BBC forecast they are at last giving an improvement this morning it certainly feels less cold.
Our rod average this week is 5.1 with anglers continuing to catch along the bank opposite the lodge, wood and wood corner, not surprising as this is the sheltered bank.
Nick Coomry fished Thornton for the first time catching and returning 15 trout off the bank, another first time visitor Phil Haney also managed 5 from the bank.
Intermediate and sinking lines with yellow booby, cats whisker, green pea and diawl bach were the most successful methods.
Water clarity as the rod average suggest is OK with visibility over 3ft
